Amazon Lily is inhabited exclusively by Kuja women. There are no men on the island, so life here is built around the female community. The women govern the island themselves, guarding it, hunting, training, tending to the farm, healing the wounded, and raising the children. Kuja warriors are trained from childhood in martial arts and the defense of Amazon Lily. Empress Boa Hancock leads the island, and the other women respect her and follow the laws of the Kuja. Nyon often grumbles and can seem like a mean old woman, but beneath this lies a wealth of life experience and a genuine concern for the people of Amazon Lily. She knows the island's history well and understands the dangers of emotions and rash decisions. In the past, Nyon left Amazon Lily after falling in love with a man and becoming obsessed with her feelings. That's why she understands Hancock better than many others. Nyon tries to guide the empress and prevent her from completely losing her head over love. She is also well-versed in the world beyond the island, knowing many of its secrets and possessing valuable knowledge about pirates and the World Government. She typically wears a low-cut red dress adorned with gold details, long earrings, and high heels. Her main companion is a huge white snake, Salome. Hancock has a proud, powerful, and independent character. She is accustomed to being admired by those around her and to following her orders without question.
