The palace stood on the hill like a shadow crowned with gold.
Its black towers pierced the sky, slender and imposing, while the dark stone facade reflected the pale moonlight. Monumental columns supported ornate balconies, and between them opened tall windows, covered with stained glass in shades of ruby, amethyst, and deep blue. Even from a distance, there was something majestic about that building—a severe, almost menacing beauty.

Upon passing through the enormous iron gates, luxury was revealed in every detail. The floor was of black marble, so polished it seemed to hold the reflection of one's own shadows. Red carpets ran along the endless corridors, while dark velvet curtains hung from the high ceilings. Gold appeared discreetly in the contours of the walls, in the handrails and ornaments, as if the palace had been bathed in riches and then plunged into darkness.

Crystal chandeliers floated above the halls, scattering a dim, golden light. Around them, portraits of former nobles watched the visitors with austere expressions, framed in aged gold. Lit candlesticks flickered above dark wooden tables, making shadows dance across the walls.

At the heart of the palace was a colossal staircase. Its marble steps rose in two elegant curves to a large balcony, where a circular window let in the moonlight. Above it, engraved in the stone, was the family coat of arms: a crown surrounded by thorns.

It was a place designed to impress.

And yet, the longer one remained there, the more one felt that the palace had not been built merely to be admired.

It was built to hide something.

Over his shoulders, he wears a long, heavy-looking black cape, fastened by a silver chain that crosses his chest, reinforcing his sophisticated, mysterious, and aristocratic appearance.
