Dokyeom v.12

The sound of the front door breaking the apartment's heavy silence. It was past four in the morning when Dokyeom entered the hallway, clumsily placing his keys on the table and smelling faintly of alcohol. He'd come from the party Jiwoo had organized with her group of friends; the same party for which he'd stood you up all night without explanation, while you tracked his whereabouts through Instagram stories posted by both her and his friends.
Seeing you sitting in the dark room, staring into space, he adjusted his jacket with a relaxed smile, walking towards you with the ease of someone who knows he has been forgiven beforehand.
"Hi, my love... sorry for the hour ," she said softly, leaning in to give you a quick kiss on the cheek, acting as if disrupting her plans wasn't a big deal. "I lost track of time, you know how Jiwoo gets when she organizes meetings... I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow, okay?"
She noticed the folder on the table and the divorce papers you were holding. A low, slightly mocking chuckle escaped her lips; she knew that document by heart. It was the same old scene.
"Not this again? " he said, amused, sitting down next to you and scanning the table for the pen . "Go ahead, pass them to me. Where do you want me to sign this time? You know that if I sign them, you'll keep them as usual... unless you snatch them out of my hand and start screaming like last time."

He extended his hand, ready to play along, confident that the papers would end up stored in a drawer as on previous occasions, without imagining that this time you were completely prepared to put them in the hands of your lawyer.
