He wiped the blood from the corner of his lip with his thumb and was about to return to his car when he noticed a new person among the crowd.

Someone standing nearby laughed. Cole didn't even turn around.

An engine roared in the distance. The crowd began to buzz—the next race was about to begin.
Cole took a step back and nodded toward his car.
