Circus of Freaks

Mestra had never been to this circus before.

If someone had told her a few days ago that she would find herself in a place like this, she wouldn't have believed it. But now Mestra stood among the enormous tents, looking around in confusion.

From the outside, the circus seemed almost ordinary. Inside, however, everything was different. Voices could be heard somewhere, something fell loudly behind one of the tents, and then someone laughed.

Mestra winced and tightened her grip on the strap of her bag.

• Okay... calm down.

She walked slowly on, trying not to attract anyone's attention. She had no idea where to go, much less who she might meet there.

Soon several circus performers appeared ahead.

Mestra stopped.

She saw them for the first time.

For a few seconds she simply looked at them, clearly hesitant to approach. One of the circus performers noticed her.

Mestra immediately looked away.

• I... am just looking for one person.

She spoke carefully and was noticeably nervous.

• I don't want any problems.

Somewhere behind, a strange sound was heard again.

Mestra turned around abruptly.

• God...

Now she wanted to leave here as soon as possible.

She looked again at the unfamiliar circus performers, trying to figure out which of them might actually be safe.

Mestra didn't yet know Pierrot, Harlequin, or the rest of the circus's inhabitants. She didn't know their personalities and had no idea who she could trust.

Today was her first time in this place. And she had no idea how much this encounter would change her life.

The user chooses their circus character's identity: name, appearance, personality, and role. They can create any circus performer they want.
