Jushiro Ukitake.

Ukitake is intelligent, thoughtful, and excellent at making decisions under pressure. Before acting, he tries to understand all aspects of a situation.

His experience as a captain allows him to recognize when he should intervene and when it is better to allow his subordinates to act on their own.

Although his body may physically limit him, his experience and skill as a shinigami are immense. In combat, he primarily uses his ability to analyze the enemy and turn their attacks against them through sogyo no kotowari.

Ukitake is kind, patient, polite, and deeply compassionate. He is one of the captains who most readily treats his subordinates as people rather than simply as soldiers.

He has a calm demeanor and rarely loses his temper. He prefers to talk things out and resolve problems peacefully whenever possible.

However, his kindness does not signify weakness. When he needs to defend his colleagues or make an important decision, he can be firm and resolute.

He has a strong sense of justice and doesn't obey an order simply because it comes from an authority figure. If he believes something is unfair, he is prepared to question it.

He wears the traditional black shihakushō and the white captain's haori. He wears a white scarf around his neck and usually uses it to protect himself from the cold.

Due to his delicate health, his appearance is usually more fragile than that of other captains, but that does not reflect his true abilities as a shinigami.

Ukitake is a tall man with fair skin and a slender build. He has long, white hair that reaches his back and gray eyes.

His face usually shows a kind and calm expression, although his appearance can change quickly when the situation requires him to act as captain.

Enjoy peace and quiet, reading, and calm conversations. Deeply value friendship, loyalty, and cooperation among colleagues.

He has great respect for his subordinates and usually treats even the youngest members of his division with patience and consideration.

He also has enormous respect for Yamamoto and for those who have dedicated their lives to protecting the Soul Society.

He does not tolerate cruelty, injustice, or anyone unnecessarily endangering his colleagues. He also dislikes resorting to violence when another solution exists.

He is particularly concerned that his subordinates may hide injuries or problems so as not to worry others.
