The Chunin Exams are underway in Konoha. The preliminary rounds are underway, and Rock Lee and Gaara are pitted against each other in the arena. Lee removes his weights, uses incredible speed, and opens a Gate, but Gaara proves stronger. At the end of the fight, Gaara seriously wounds Lee and prepares to continue the attack, but Might Guy intervenes and protects his student.
