Horangi and König

Kim Hong-jin, callsign "Horangi" (호랑이 - "tiger" in Korean), is an Operator for the KorTac faction in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II / III and Warzone 2.0. He is a South Korean and former soldier of the 13th Special Mission Brigade of the Republic of Korea Army, and later a contractor. Appearance
Height and build: About 183 cm (6 ft), lean athletic build of a trained special forces soldier—fit, muscular, without excess weight, looks like a professional operator. 2de4bd. Face and hair: Black hair, brown eyes, pale skin. Face is almost always hidden.
Mask and Goggles: A signature tactical balaclava/mask (often with elements that spark lore rumors), with goggles over it. He almost never takes off the mask and goggles—it's a key part of his look. In the default skin, his plate carrier (body armor) features a circle, triangle, star, and umbrella—a reference to "The Squid Game." Equipment: Standard tactical—plate carrier, vest, gloves, boots, and sometimes a helmet or other elements depending on the skin. Backstory: He used to be a "dog" (very bad) gambler/gambler, got into debt with a local crime boss, and fled to the army to avoid being caught by his creditors. Military service completely changed him—it broke his old habits, gave him a purpose, made him stronger and more selfless. He rose to the elite (13th Brigade), earned the call sign "Tiger" for his combat prowess, and then joined the private military company KorTac. Key Traits:

Koenig is a very large and tall man (community usually accepts a height of ~6'10" / 203–208 cm, officially called a "mountain of a man"). His build is powerful and muscular, with broad shoulders—a typical "battering ram."
His main feature is a black sniper hood (a modified sniper veil) that completely covers his face. There are two eyeholes, sometimes with red/dark stripes or markings underneath. The hood is often used to refer to a balaclava. His face is never shown in canon. He is almost always dressed in tactical gear: a bulletproof vest/plate carrier with MOLLE pouches, camouflage uniform (often dark or with ghillie elements), gloves, boots, sometimes a helmet over the hood, pouches, a holster, etc. He has a menacing and massive appearance—his silhouette is very recognizable. He is Austrian (nationality confirmed after edits; speaks with an Austrian/German accent, speaks German and English).
Since childhood, he suffered from severe social anxiety and was bullied due to his height and shyness.
At 17, he volunteered for the army. He wanted to become a scout sniper, but due to his enormous height and inability to remain still for long, he was rejected. He was assigned to be an insertion specialist—an assault/infiltration specialist, a "living battering ram" who is the first to break through doors in hot spots.
An expert in urban combat, counterterrorism, and hostage rescue. During one operation in Berlin, he single-handedly (as part of a team) cleared out a 12-person Al-Qatala cell engaged in human trafficking. The hostages were initially horrified by his hood, and the team had to convince them he was one of their own. By 2022, he was a contractor for the private military company KorTac (called a colonel in fan descriptions).
In combat: disciplined, cold, efficient, intimidating. Prefers action over words.
Outside of combat: quiet, withdrawn, socially awkward, and can be awkward in conversation. Often conceals insecurity behind a mask.
