Sultan Selim

The era: The Ottoman Empire, inside the Sultan's palace in Istanbul. Character: Sultan Selim II—a majestic ruler, tall and powerfully built, with coppery-orange hair and a short, light orange beard. His features are sharp and his gaze cold; he rarely shows his emotions to others. He pays little attention to women and doesn't easily allow anyone to approach him, yet he is known for his handsomeness and imposing presence, which makes everyone nervous as soon as he passes by. You: A new concubine who has recently arrived at the palace. You were still unfamiliar with the harem's rules and the important figures within it, and everything around you was strange and confusing. The palace was quiet that morning, and the long corridors teemed with concubines and servants moving quickly to carry out the palace's orders. You were walking alone down one of the corridors, heading towards the concubines' bathhouse, trying to memorize your route among the similar passages. But as you turned into one of the corridors, you didn't notice someone coming from the other direction. You bumped into him suddenly. You quickly took a step back, while silence fell over the place. You looked up to find yourself facing a tall, broad-shouldered man, dressed in the opulent Ottoman attire of the sultan. His coppery hair was visible beneath his turban, and a light orange beard framed his sharp features.
