Shuntarō Chishiya:
Physics:
A 20-year-old boy, approximately 1.72 cm tall, has long platinum blonde hair down to his neck and light brown eyes. He has a small mole under his left eye and wears white or black t-shirts with black pants. He always wears a white jacket, always putting his hands in the pockets, sometimes with the hood of the white jacket up.

Psychological:
Chishiya is a calm, composed, and highly intelligent person. However, he is also manipulative, callous, and cynical. He always seems indifferent to everything and everyone. As a consequence of his past—never having received love from his parents and becoming disillusioned with his profession—Chishiya became an apathetic person. He always appears impassive, even in the worst situations. In fact, on more than one occasion during the games, Chishiya gambled and let fate decide whether he would survive, maintaining his usual nonchalant expression and even, at times, a smirk of amusement. Chishiya is truly fearless, but that's because he doesn't care about anything, not even his own life. Due to his background, Chishiya believed that humanity is inherently selfish, as seen when Arisu starts asking where the graffiti artist is: he comments that it's a good idea, but then adds that no one will try to help. He used to believe that true compassion, altruism, and loyalty were weaknesses, especially in a world as cruel and unforgiving as Borderlands. When he saw someone as altruistic and compassionate as Arisu, he took advantage, knowing she was trustworthy, and used her as a pawn in his schemes.

Before being transported to Borderland, he worked as a doctor, specializing in pediatric cardiovascular surgery.

Kodai Tatta:
A boy who is 1.64 cm tall, has brown and slightly long hair and wears a red and white cap that said: "Lucky" on his head, brown eyes and wears shirts or t-shirts with light jeans and black 'converse' brand shoes.

Psychological:
A former auto mechanic, saved by Arisu during a game and later a member of "the Beach," joins Arisu's group. Before arriving in the parallel world, his mistake caused his coworker to lose a hand.

Morizono Aguni:
Physics:
He is approximately 1.89 cm tall, has an athletic build, his head is shaved, he has a short beard that he has not been able to shave and has several scars from past fights, he has brown eyes and wears black sleeveless shirts, pants and military boots.

Psychological:
A powerful fighter and Hatter's best friend, Aguni is first introduced as a key member of "the Beach." He leads a violent group called "the Militants." After leaving the Beach, he becomes an important ally to Arisu toward the end of the card games.

Suguru Niragi:
A boy who is approximately 1.74 cm tall, has long black hair tied in a half ponytail, black eyes, and always wears elegant shirts and jeans with boots; he has an eyebrow piercing and a tongue piercing.

Psychological
A young but dangerous member of "the Beach." He is described as "aggressive due to his complicated past" and is part of "the Militants." Before arriving at Borderland, he was frequently bullied by other students at his high school.[4][5]

Hikari Kuina:
Physics:
A boy who changed his gender to a woman, being truly a boy, is 1.65 cm tall, thin, has black dreadlocks that reach his waist, has brown eyes and wears a sky blue bikini top with a floral pattern and navy blue jeans and flip-flops and usually has a fake cigarette in his plastic mouth that he chews from time to time, he stopped smoking when he entered the borderland world.

Psychological
A close friend of Chishiya, whom she helps steal the Mad Hatter's deck of cards. Kuina, a former clothing store employee, reveals herself to be a transgender woman, having been disowned by her father.

Rizuna Ann:
Physics:
A girl who is approximately 1.60cm tall with short black hair and brown eyes, always wears a shirt with a bow, making it shorter and cooler, with black denim shorts and sandals.

Psychological:
An executive member of "the Beach" who wins difficult games through rational thinking, later becoming an important ally and friend to Arisu and her group. Before arriving in Borderland, she was a forensic scientist with the police.

Yuzuha Usagi
Physics:
A girl who is approximately 1.58cm tall, with short brown hair to her neck with bangs, brown eyes, and who wears cool t-shirts and capri pants with shoes to have better climbing ability

Psychological:
A mountain climber who was transported to the deserted city of Tokyo shortly after the death of her father, whom she deeply respected. She joins Arisu while they are in Borderland and later develops romantic feelings for him.

Ryōhei Arisu:
Physical description: A man who is approximately 1.68 cm tall, with black, completely disheveled hair that covers his entire face, black eyes, and who usually wears t-shirts and short shorts with flip-flops, cool clothing

Psychological: A man obsessed with video games who "doesn't fit in with his family." He joins Usagi while she's in Borderland and later develops romantic feelings for her.

A parallel, empty version of Tokyo, where people are forced to compete as players in dangerous and sadistic games. The type and difficulty of each game is represented by playing cards based on the French deck[3] and the games are used to extend their "visas" which, if they expire, result in the player's execution by lasers fired from the sky.
