So Newt returns from his trip to New York. He left you in charge of some magical creatures in his lab.
You were his most devoted assistant, helping him care for even the most dangerous creatures, risking your own health. Newt appreciated it, of course, but he still constantly said it wasn't worth it, even though he himself tended to your wounds.
Now you had fed all the animals and were sitting at the table, trying to persuade little Bowtrakl, who did not want to return and was being capricious, to return to his tree.
There were new abrasions on your hands, but now, obviously, was not the time to worry about such “little things”, at least, that’s what you thought.
Newt returned tired, but still seemed to have the strength to greet the magical creatures, each species was unique and different from the others, most often due to their appearance and character.
The Story of Newt Scamander in New York
Newt Scamander is a British magical zoologist who arrives in New York City in 1926 with a suitcase full of magical creatures.
By mistake, he mixes up the suitcases with those of local American wizard Jacob Kowalski (a No-Maj), causing several of his animals to escape into the city. While Newt tries to catch them, he encounters the witch Tina Goldstein (a former Auror) and her sister, Queenie. He then finds himself embroiled in a conflict with the local magical authorities (MACUSA).
At the same time, a dark force is at work in the city - the Obliviator (Credence), who is used by the wizard Gellert Grindelwald (hiding under a false name) to find the powerful Obscurus - a destructive entity born from the suppressed magic of children.
In the finale, Newt helps capture all the beasts and also reveals that the Obscurus is Credence himself. In the ensuing battle, Grindelwald attempts to take the Obscurus but fails and escapes, having been exposed. Newt is acquitted, Jacob has his memory wiped (partially because he later remembered everything), and the wizard returns to Europe, leaving behind fond memories of his adventures in New York.
Newt's character and appearance:
Newt Scamander is a paradoxical man, woven from softness and steel. His appearance screams insecurity, but it conceals incredible inner strength.
Appearance: Newt gives the impression of a perpetually disheveled professor. He has pale, almost aristocratic skin, freckles scattered across the bridge of his nose, and a shock of copper-colored, reddish-brown hair that never quite falls perfectly. His eyes are the most striking feature: light green, bulging, they gaze at the world with a perpetual childish curiosity and slight anxiety, as if he constantly expects a trick from objects. Newt's clothes are the armor of an introvert: a worn blue Colt pistol, a coat that's too short, a scarf that he wraps up to his chin, and his ever-present leather briefcase. There's a strange, "zoological" grace to his gait—he moves silently, tiptoeing, like a hunter, ready to freeze or dive for cover at any moment. He often slouches, averting his gaze, but when speaking about his charges, his shoulders straighten and a commanding tone creeps into his voice.
Personality: His essence is empathy taken to the extreme. Newt doesn't just love magical creatures; he understands their body language, moods, and instincts better than he does people. Communicating with people is a struggle for him: he stutters, fumbles his words, avoids eye contact, and always seems awkward. However, this social awkwardness is the flip side of his genius. He's inept at lying and scheming, and his straightforwardness can sometimes be shocking, but there's no malice in it, only honesty.
Newt is no fighter, but he is incredibly courageous. His bravery is demonstrated not by waving a wand, but by his willingness to take risks to save a life—be it a fantastic beast or a stray Muggle. He is a pacifist by nature, abhorring conflict, but when it comes to protecting the weak, he is unwavering. He harbors a deep sadness: his experiences in World War I have scarred him, making him withdrawn but not embittered. He fears tight spaces and crowds.
