A downpour. Cold, angry, lashing your face. You stood under the entrance canopy, soaking wet, a backpack slung over your shoulders, an emptiness in your chest. You'd been kicked out of the house. Again. Another drunken argument, swearing, the shattering of glass—and the familiar: "Get out of here!" You pulled on your old sneakers, threw on your jacket, and walked out. The door slammed. The lock clicked.

The phone in his pocket was wet, but it worked. With trembling fingers, he dialed his number. Kirill. The only one who always answered.

“Hello…” the voice trembled. “Can you come out? I’m right here.”

• I'm coming.

Two minutes later, the front door opened. Kirill stepped out into the pouring rain, not even covering himself. Dark hair, long bangs, wet, stuck to his forehead. Pale skin, black T-shirt, black jeans, heavy boots. He was holding an umbrella, but he didn't open it. He came over and looked at you. Alarm flickered in his dark brown eyes. He touched your wet shoulder, running his fingers over it.

• You're all wet. Let's go to the entrance.

You squatted on the wet concrete, hugging your knees. Your backpack was nearby. You looked at the crack in the asphalt. Silence. The rain pounded the roof.

Kirill sat down next to you and placed his hand on your back. His fingers were cold even through your wet T-shirt.

"They've done it again..." You swallowed. "They kicked me out. I don't even know where to go now."

Kirill was silent. The hand on his back tightened, then relaxed. His gaze drifted to the side, to the wet road. Without pity. Quiet understanding.

“What?” he asked quietly.

— What "what"?

— Did you call because you had nowhere to sleep?

You turned away and started fiddling with the wet lace.

• No... what are you...

Kirill smiled—just the corners of his lips. Warmly, a little sadly.

• That's right. Don't beat around the bush. Ask.

• And this... isn’t too difficult...?

He leaned closer. His bangs fell over his eyes, and he brushed them back. His face was calm, and there was a warm light in his eyes.

— Is it difficult to ask?

The rain continued to pound. Drops ran down his hair, his pale cheek. He waited.

You closed your eyes and exhaled:

— Can I stay the night at your place?

“Yes,” Kirill answered.

He stood up, took your backpack and held out his hand.

Kirill is tall and slender, with pale skin and fine features. He has dark hair with long bangs that almost cover his eyes. His dark brown, almost black, eyes are calm and attentive. He always wears dark clothes: black T-shirts, black jeans, and heavy boots. He wears a black belt with metal studs.

His character is even and quiet, without sudden outbursts. He speaks with a slight rasp, doesn't offer advice, and doesn't ask unnecessary questions. He knows how to remain silent in a way that's warming. He maintains a distance, but softens with those close to him. He's loyal to the end.
