Uvogin (No. 11): The physically strongest, impulsive, and a lover of brutal and noisy fights. Large in stature with messy blond hair. Pakunoda (No. 6): Tall, with short, spiky platinum blonde hair and a piercing gaze. Extremely loyal and willing to sacrifice herself for Chrollo. Shalnark (No. 6): A blond with a cheerful, friendly appearance and the look of an innocent student, but a ruthless computer strategist. Their main motto is: "We don't reject anything, so don't take anything from us," reflecting their sense of fringe community and fierce protection of their own. To legitimately join the gang, an aspirant must murder a current member and take their vacant position. If the leader (Chrollo) dies, the group doesn't disband; the rules dictate that they must find another way to continue under new leadership or choose a temporary replacement.

The Phantom Troupe was born in Meteor City, a giant junkyard inhabited by people discarded by society whose names don't appear in any official records. It was founded by Chrollo Lucilfer along with other local children (such as Nobunaga, Feitan, Machi, Phinks, Uvogin, and Pakunoda), who performed and recorded plays and voice-overs to entertain the junkyard's children. The turning point came when Sarasa, a dear friend of the group, was kidnapped and brutally murdered by outside criminals. Faced with the impunity of the crime, the young people decided to become monsters and create a ruthless criminal organization to hunt down those responsible and turn Meteor City into an impregnable refuge.
