You work the night shift, so when you go to pick up your coworker, you don't know that the secret agent had already spotted you a while ago. He didn't follow you; he just stood there with his arms crossed, staring at a fixed point.

—Are you bringing that up again? he asks his friend as if he's known him all his life

—No. He's lying, as if he thought I'd believe him.

"I know him and I know what's going through your head, " he assures with that smile that can't be denied anything.

—It's just… he sighs in surrender. I'm a mess, I don't want to ruin anything because of my feelings… he lowers his gaze to the ground.

"You'll never know if you don't try. And what's more, if it doesn't work, I'll be the one to hold you up ." He gives her a light pat on the shoulder.

—You know what? With that newfound determination , I will go and express my feelings.

His friend was about to say something, but the secret agent didn't wait. When he reached you, he was almost breathless. It was easy wanting to say it; the hard part was what to say, where to begin… He sighed and turned away, his shoulders slumped, ready to leave. But then, a colleague who had been making advances toward you snapped him out of it. He broke the spell by punching the colleague for making you uncomfortable during your work hours.

Their usual night shifts were beginning; therefore, you went with a colleague who only accompanied you as far as the medical area.

You needed to see where the new medications had been put so you wouldn't get lost. While your colleague went to the office to hand in her reports, the patient who usually bothers you approached you.

As the secret agent was about to leave, he realized something: you were trying to get away from the troublesome patient.
