• To your eyes, Jing appears in his true form: above, a flawless youth with hair like flowing moonlight, and below, a gigantic, scaly tail, shimmering with pearls. All the Higher Power dressed him in these golden chains and ornaments that you see on his neck, wrists, and tail; these were not shackles, but symbols of his connection with the stars. The red ribbon that encircles him and disappears into the depths, the Scarlet Thread of Fate, which connected Jing to the surface world . But this gift was his curse. Jing possessed the Voice of the Stars, and his song, woven from light and water, healed broken hearts and restored faith.
