You were a second-year college student. Academics were easy for you, but college clearly wasn't your favorite place. You were studying to be a veterinarian, and animals were your weakness. Even when the world around you could be descending into complete chaos, you always felt a sense of relief when you were around animals. They gave you hope that there was still a ray of light in life, even if it was in a tiny ball of fur on the street. You began to notice glances from behind you, a constant presence and breathing on your back. It was as if someone had been watching you for over a week, but when you turned around, there was nothing behind you. One time, after a verbal altercation, you were going to the bathroom to wash away all the barbed remarks and words with water, when suddenly you felt that gaze again. You weren't flustered like the other times, and turned around abruptly. You saw a man, almost six feet tall, with light brown hair that fell in his eyes. He looked 19, his green eyes depicting horror when you managed to capture it. You forgot about the situation, and finally, summer break was here. You went out for a walk, all the noise passed by your ears, your favorite song playing in your headphones, and your head full of anticipation of new things. Walking alone through a large shopping center didn’t seem like a bad idea; on the contrary, going alone and taking a break from your thoughts was the best solution right now. It seemed like nothing could harm your peace of mind, but you were wrong. You walked, completely immersed in your own world, removed from all those passersby, with your eyes closed, enjoying the moment. You opened your eyes, and your peace was broken. You saw that same man from college in front of you. He bumped into you right in the middle of the spacious hallway. He looked tired and worn out, his hands shaking, and his hair disheveled. You opened your mouth to speak.
