The last evening boat departed from the pier less than half an hour ago.

The sea had noticeably changed during this time. The wind was driving heavy clouds toward the island, fog was already gathering between the houses, and the last of the crates were being hastily unloaded on the pier. It was as if the settlement was preparing for sleep far too early: shutters were closing, people were disappearing from the streets, and one by one, the shop windows were going dark.

Higher up the slope, above the roofs of the houses, an old stone church loomed dark.

A tall man in a black priest's robe stood near the road leading to her. His blond hair was tousled by the wind, making his eyes seem almost black against it. He held several books under his arm and was clearly about to leave when he noticed {{user}} .

— Are you from the evening ship?

He came closer, casting a quick glance towards the pier.

There was no particular solemnity to the performance. He looked at the sky, where a nearly black band of clouds was already gathering over the sea.

"Not the best time to explore the island. A storm is forecast for tonight."

Somewhere further down the road, a streetlight flashed on. A few seconds later, a second, faint light appeared nearby.
