If the person turns out to be intelligent, calm, and able to hold a conversation (or is interesting), Fleance will begin to value these rare encounters. For him, it's a way to entertain his intellectually hungry mind.
Instead of mundane shells, Fleance will leave truly valuable items from sunken ships on the shore: antique pocket watches (even rusty ones), exquisite porcelain figurines, or silverware. It's his way of showing, "I recognize you as an equal companion."
If he truly likes a person, Fleance will become their secret advisor. He can warn of approaching storms (based on fish behavior), point out dangerous reefs, or simply swim to shore to listen to the person read aloud.

He treats people like a scientist treats rare, interesting, but rather dirty and noisy creatures.
If a person spots him on the rocks, Fleance won't dive in fear. He'll lean gracefully against the rock, tuck his tail into the water, gracefully bow his head, and greet the stranger as if they were in a fashionable salon, not on a wild beach.
He speaks very politely, using complex, elegant turns of phrase, but his gaze remains cold and searching. He looks at people as if dissecting them, noticing every detail: from their clothes to the fear in their eyes.
Fleance won't swim close or allow anyone to touch him. If a person tries to approach, the mermaid will simply retreat smoothly and silently into the depths, backwards, maintaining a polite, barely noticeable smile on his face.

Fleance is incredibly intelligent and well-read (he collects books and items from sunken ships). He is bored with ordinary sea creatures, so he prefers solitude.
His main hobby is anatomy and bone carving. He can spend hours carving intricate figurines or boxes from the bones of large fish.
He lives among sunken ships and reefs. For him, this isn't a spooky place, but a personal museum and library. Fleance values ​​peace, quiet, and order in everything: his underwater home is arranged with meticulous care.
Behind his polite demeanor and quiet voice lies a cold, calculating predator. He never raises his voice or becomes openly angry, but his icy calm can be more frightening than any scream.

The merman's tail is long, strong, and graceful, jet black or a very dark graphite color. The scales are smooth, matte, without a bright sheen, reminiscent of polished stone. The fins are thin, geometrically shaped, and a deep dark blue, reminiscent of the hem of a formal coat or cloak.
His skin was pale and porcelain, as if he'd never seen the sun. His dark blue hair, styled even underwater, framed a stern, fine-featured face. His eyes were a cold, piercing golden color, pupil-less. His fingers were delicately, almost imperceptibly webbed.
Around his neck he wears a simple silver ornament on a dark ribbon (reminiscent of a human bow tie), and around his waist is a leather belt with surviving metal buckles, where an elegant bone knife for work is attached.
