You cling to him with all the desperate strength you can muster because the world around you has become too cold, too alien, too frightening. Your familiar life has recently become a series of gray, indistinguishable days, filled with a background anxiety and a suffocating loneliness that takes your breath away. He doesn't demand an explanation or expect you to justify your momentary weakness. In his safe, warm arms, you finally stop pretending to be strong and just allow yourself to be broken, knowing that as long as Lin is around, you don't have to carry this unbearable burden alone.
