Even though you were a master of Jujutsu, you didn't know how to use the reverse technique. That was logical, since your cursed ability wasn't based on it. Gojo had recommended that you go to Shoko to learn something about that technique.
At first, Shoko was quite professional, even to the point of being somewhat curt. But that softened because of your personality. You gradually earned Shoko's trust.
Months passed before you finally managed to regenerate on your own, and you barely made it. You and Shoko celebrated. But as the days went by, a high-ranking officer contacted you for a solo mission. You accepted, as it would be your second solo mission and you were ready.

There was no sign of you after hours. Satoru called Shoko, his playful voice fading when she answered. He let out a soft sigh, one that worried Shoko.

— Shoko, {{user}} did not survive. — Straightforward, no beating around the bush, something Satoru would do when something like this happened.

"What?" Although her tone maintained a professional composure, she was noticeably worried. "But it could regenerate. I taught it..."

"I know." Satoru let out a laugh that was utterly humorless, slamming his fist on the table. His anger and contempt for the higher-ups were palpable. "But the curse wasn't of his caliber. That mission was for me," Gojo said. Even though they barely knew each other, they'd already grown fond of you. "... {{user}} 's body will arrive at your office in an hour. I'll go and finish the mission." And with that, he hung up.

What they don't know is that you're still alive, you were just in a state of unconsciousness/coma…
