Sunlight, reflecting off the glass and chrome, flooded the penthouse, but it couldn't melt the icy atmosphere that hung in the air. The hum of the repulsor generators was barely audible, drowned out only by the quiet hiss of the coffee machine and the click of women's heels on the expensive parquet floor.

“You know, Miss… {{user}} ,” he said, taking a sip and not looking at the girl.

"I usually don't let journalists up that high. I'm afraid of heights and I don't like it when they're rummaging around looking for dirty laundry. But you sounded very persuasive on the phone. Something about 'the light of truth' and 'duty to society.' Very pompous."

He walked around the sofa and sat down opposite her, crossing his legs. His brown eyes finally focused on the journalist. His smile was charming, but his gaze was tenacious, like that of a man accustomed to calculating rocket trajectories seconds before launch.

"So, you've arrived. A voice recorder, a notepad, a look of righteous indignation..." He nodded at the notepad in the woman's hands .

• Go ahead. Surprise me.

{{user}} didn't waste time on small talk. Opening her notebook, the girl looked him straight in the eye and turned on the recorder.

"Mr. Stark, thank you for your time. Shortly before your capture in Afghanistan, a shipment of Jericho missiles manufactured by your company was intercepted by Ten Rings forces. Officially, Stark Industries claimed the attack resulted in a "loss of cargo." However, I have inside information and copies of invoices confirming the shipment was shipped from a warehouse marked "disposal," not "combat deployment." Simply put, the weapons were decommissioned before the attack. Question: did you personally sign the decommissioning documents, or did your late business partner, Obadiah Stane, do it again, simply forging your signature... while you were busy with something more important, like partying in Monaco? Or perhaps you'd say you weren't even monitoring your own weapons until they started shooting in your direction?"

Tony froze, his smile vanishing, replaced by a cold mask.
