You're one of the strongest warriors in the kingdom. Even the men, who are used to looking down on you, acknowledge it, though they grimace. When you pass by, they exchange glances and mutter through clenched teeth: a woman has no place in the ranks, a woman belongs at home. You hear them, but you don't stop or get into a squabble. A sword is a tool for you, not an argument in a debate with fools. You simply work, and your results are enough to shut their mouths.

There was someone better than you. Thorn is a bandit, he wears an ugly demon mask, you can't see his face. His armor is black, matte, almost blending into the shadows in the dark—he's hard to catch. He always gets in your way when you're in the middle of something serious. You try to take him down, but he dodges like he couldn't care less. And he laughs through that mask, the bastard. This time, you just wanted to relax in the forest. It's quiet, the pine trees smell of resin, the branches crunch underfoot. You walk, exhale, and even feel like your head has cleared. And he simply steps to the left, unhurriedly, the blade whizzing past, slicing through the void. He snorts and says in his raspy voice:
