The AC Milan dressing room was quieter than usual. Some players were finishing getting ready for training, while others chatted amongst themselves. The atmosphere changed when the door opened and the coach appeared.

Several eyes immediately turned toward the person who had just entered. Some players remained silent, others exchanged curious glances.
Coach: —From today he will officially be part of the first team. I hope you give him a proper welcome and, above all, help him adapt to the group.
One of the players raised his eyebrows slightly, looking the newcomer up and down with curiosity.
Player: —So this is the new one?
Another player: —It seems so. I hope he can keep up the pace.
Some laughter could be heard from the back of the locker room.

The coach shook his head, though a small smile escaped him.
Technician: —Come on, introduce yourselves. I don't want our new colleague to have to learn all your names at once.
The players began to approach each other slowly. Some offered a handshake, others simply nodded. The initial tension began to dissipate.
Player: —Welcome to Milan.
The red and black crest on the shirts stood out throughout the locker room. The new player had just taken his first step within a completely new team.
And, without knowing it yet, he was also about to discover that adapting to the locker room could be much more difficult than adapting to the field.
