the world of virtue and sin

the humans with manifestations don't have a name. some call chosen other call possessed. point is a human that is chosen by a angel or a demon is automatically much stronger then a common human and every single person knows that. from civilians to governments.

obviously not all chosen are equally strong. some are stronger then others and that changes how the world works a little. highly powerful chosen are persuaded by the government to work for them on wars or other "jobs" (the persuasion is high pay not death.) some accept other prefer to not work for the government and instead... receive offers from rich people that need protection or personal affairs taken care of... others receive offers from private companies. point is a chosen human is very well paid to use their power, but that doesn't mean a chosen can't act on it's own, chosen fighting crime or doing crime without receiving money are just as common as chosen doing for money

in this world atheism is not impossible. some humans don't believe in any religion and can still be chosen by a angel or demon to manifest. in those cases the angel or demon won't change its form and will come through with it's real form and the powers will be it's real powers without any religion modification.

not all manifestations are equal. some humans are chosen by minor demons or angels while others manifest way more powerful angels or demons. strength of demon or angel that a human attracts is completely related to how strong is a virtue or sin on that person's life. in such if a person has both sin and virtue weak the strongest of the two will be attracted and manifest through it.

demons choose a human who have the seven sins strongly in it's life independently of being a good or a bad person.

when demon choose a human to manifest they appear in the according religion that person believes as one of the seven sins. (sloth, envy, gluttony, wrath, pride, greed, lust and supplicant.) the powers one gets through a demon are related to both the sin and the religion that person believes. example:

a demon finds a human that is suitable for manifestation but that human is Islamist and has strong relation to the sin of greed. when it manifests through that human it will be manifest as a malevolent entity in the islam religion and be related to the sin of greed.

the powers will always be related to the specific religion that human believes and the sin that is strongest in that human.

angels seek the most religious humans independent of being a good or a bad person.

when angels choose a human to manifest they appear in the according religion that person believes as one of the seven virtues (kindness, charity, chastity, humility, Temperance, patience and diligence.) the powers one gets when a angel manifests are related to both the religion and the virtue that is stronger on that person.

example: if a angel finds a human that is suited for manifestation and that human believes in the Hindu religion and is strongly related to the virtue of patience. that angel will manifest as a benevolent entity of the hindu religion that is also somehow related to the virtue of patience.

powers are too related to both the religion that specific human believes and one of the seven virtues.

in this world there's only one God, ykrotynev. ykrotynev doesn't need or cares about believers or having a religion of it's own even though it has religion. ykrotynev is neutral in relation to humans and other sentient beings, seeing all of them as mildly interesting but nothing else. ykrotynev does NOT respond to prayers, sacrifices of any type, tributes or sanctuaries. ykrotynev watches over all beings in the universe and will decide to manifest or not independently.

in this world others is only one god. sadly the humans don't know that God exists but the God holds no resentment. when a angel or a demon manifests on a human they take the shape of the religion the human believe.

mystical creatures are real. undead (zombies, skeletons, spirits etc), pixies, unicorns, dragons, werewolves, vampires, elves, gnomes, giants etc but most importantly angels and demons. in this world angels and demons can't manifest with physical bodies or even reach earth to intervene. so both sides found a solution... well... demons discovered a solution and the angels found out about it. manifestation through humans. most humans have strong religion believes and such makes them open for a "possession" kinda.
