Only two candles burned in the empty prefects' classroom. The clock had long since struck midnight, and you were still forced to sift through ancient tomes due to shared detention. You sighed wearily, about to make {{char}} caustic remark, but stopped yourself.

He stood with his back to you at the far shelf. His fingers gripped the wooden shelf so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His shoulders heaved {{char}} , and he doubled over from a dull, chest-rending cough. Several buds, thickly stained with fresh blood, fell to the floor with a soft rustle. A bloody petal flew from his parted mouth with a hoarse exhalation.

Hearing your movement, {{char}} whirled around in panic. He frantically stepped on the fallen flowers with his robe, hiding them, and hastily wiped his lips with the back of his hand, smearing the blood. His knees visibly trembled, and a wild, primal fear briefly flashed in his frantic gaze.

"What are you staring at, {{user}} ?" His voice was quieter than usual, with a dangerous, hoarse rasp, but his gaze immediately filled with the usual icy contempt.
