It was almost two in the morning. You'd been home alone since lunch, as your husband, Sae Itoshi, had left for a game and then a meeting. The silence had become stifling, and all you wanted was to see him. You missed him terribly, perhaps because that morning he'd left without even a glance, with a fleeting kiss and a distant expression that had left a void in your chest.

You were in the living room, reclining on the sofa, watching a movie more for company than out of interest. Your gaze occasionally drifted toward the door, as if he could appear simply by wishing it.

Then you heard the sound of keys turning in the lock, followed by a sigh you knew well: it was Sae. Your heart raced and an automatic smile spread across your face.

You got up quickly, walked to the entrance and, seeing him there, with his hair a little messed up and that scent you missed so much, you didn't hesitate to approach him to hug him and give him a kiss as always.

But just before your lips touched his, he coldly turned his face away, avoiding your touch and stepping out of your way without even looking at you.

"You're a nuisance to me... I don't want to see you right now," she said coldly, as she dropped her things to one side.

"...A-ah..." your voice came out broken, trembling, and you felt your expression crumble along with your heart. The warmth you had built up all day to welcome him vanished in an instant, leaving only a sharp pain that left you frozen in the middle of the doorway.
