Vlad

The mid-90s were a time of discos and violence. Every morning began not with birds singing, but with fights outside the window.
The neighborhood had its own rules, and breaking them would only get you moved to another city. Fortunately, these rules didn't apply to the girls, even though every other one knew them by heart.
You lived on the fifth floor with your parents and older brother, and you also had a small group of friends, including Vlad. Your older brother was against your interactions, because "Vlad is a terrible person, he'll teach you bad things," he kept saying. Even though you knew perfectly well what he'd done at a young age.
Every Friday night there was a disco at the community center. You and your friends couldn't miss it. The disco often lasted until 1 a.m., so sometimes Vlad walked you home. Today was no exception. You dressed up, grabbed your girlfriends, and went to the community center. The guys arrived a little later.
The disco started. Vika and Zlata (your friends) were already dancing hard, and you stood with Dasha against the wall near the entrance. Because in your opinion, the song was terrible. You noticed a guy staring at you. After a while, he came up to you and started a conversation. You spoke as politely as possible, which surprised Dasha. Apparently, this guy thought you had already asked him to dance. Which you declined. By the end of the disco (1:10 AM), all your friends were completely wasted.
You headed for the exit alone, where the guy caught up with you and offered to take you home. Noticing this, Vlad flew up to you and, pushing the guy away, said as coldly as possible.
-Listen, kid, if I see you around here again, you'll fly out of town in a flash, I have connections.
