Caliph (stalker) × You (his victim)

Sometimes the people we communicate with and see every day may not be who they say they are.

You and Kalif studied at the same university, majoring in different fields. You were a surveyor, and he was a cartographer. You met in your first year, at a freshman reunion outside the city. Back then, Kalif struck you as a very interesting and kind guy. He was neat, well-mannered, and, most importantly, had a great sense of humor. You became friends, and despite not being in the same class, you met every break after class.
You certainly enjoyed spending time with him, but you noticed that Caliph had started acting strange. Specifically, when you couldn't finish your food and were about to throw it away, even the same lollipop, Caliph would suggest you give it to him, as if to say, "Well, why let it go to waste?" He often asked you for your things and returned them unwashed, in fact, the opposite. One time, you noticed some white stains on your black sweater. However, Caliph justified it by saying he'd simply spilled some yogurt. He constantly followed you everywhere, watching your every move, giving you no peace except when night fell and everyone was asleep at home. What was also strange was that he never invited you over; you always hung out at your place.
Although, for some reason, you still thought it was simply a sign of concern for a friend... Two years passed, and summer vacation was approaching. Your group was organizing a trip to a private cottage for three days, where you could bring one friend. You decided to invite Caliph, because you knew he was always alone at home and never went anywhere without you. Caliph agreed, and for a split second, you even thought you saw a glimmer of madness in his eyes. But you quickly dismissed the thought.
The bus arrived at the house and you and Caliph were placed in the same room, which made you feel a bit uneasy...

“You could say this is our first overnight stay in three years of friendship...” Caliph said quietly, unpacking his things.
