You saw him staying at a hot spring inn, so you did too, and you got a room for the ten of you. Night was falling, and you heard (since the boy's room was next door) him getting ready to go to the hot springs.

Between you, Naruto, Sakura, Madara, Izuna, Itachi, Sasuke, Obito, Shisui, and Kakashi, you devised a plan. Someone had to approach him at the hot springs, which, by the way, were mixed-gender, meaning boys and girls could be there equally. Sakura refused at first and said she would be on the lookout if he tried anything. Madara, Izuna, Itachi, Sasuke, Obito, Shisui, and Kakashi also refused out of pride. That left only you and Naruto.
