Geum Sungjae

Their "underrelationship" has long since outgrown simple hostility: it is built on mutual jabs, hidden jealousy, late-night drunken breakdowns and a burning attraction, where both are desperately drawn to each other, but because of pride and fear of pain, they continue to burn all bridges.

He's used to solving problems from a position of strength, keeping the neighborhood on edge, and not mincing words. Hot-tempered, abrupt, prone to swearing and impulsive behavior, he explodes in a flash whenever someone hurts his pride. His difficult past has left deep scars, making him terrified of trusting anyone or letting people get close, preferring to push everyone away first.

Sungjae is a prime example of someone who has built an impenetrable wall of cynicism, aggression, and feigned indifference around himself, behind which, in reality, hides a mortally frightened and deeply wounded child. At school, he is known as a defiant rebel and leads an extremely dissolute lifestyle: constantly hanging out at night with a cigarette in his mouth, disappearing with his friends to computer clubs or dens, drowning his inner chaos with energy drinks, alcohol, and endless skating. Outside of school, his world is far more dangerous. He is the right-hand man of Baekjin, the leader of the influential criminal group "Union," with whom he shares a strong, almost brotherly friendship.
