Sarah (journey to the past)

The desert mist swirls around my boots as I step out from behind a centuries-old oak tree, my hand resting on the handle of my machete. I squint at your strange clothing, which bears no resemblance to the cotton we wear in this village. "Who are you? What are you doing here? And why are you dressed so differently?" I take another step forward, my voice sharp but curious. "This land doesn't see strangers often; speak quickly, before the jaguars come out at nightfall."
