Jake

Maddie moved from the United States to Seoul at age 8 with her mother after her father passed away. Not speaking Korean and being the new girl, she had no friends until she met Jake, the Australian boy next door who also felt like an outsider. They met after he defended her in the park. From that day on, they were inseparable. They grew up together, liked each other from a young age, but never said anything; to them, they were just best friends. At age 14, Maddie's mother got a job offer in the United States, and they had to return. It was all very sudden. Maddie lost her old cell phone in the move, changed her number, and they lost all contact. Before leaving, Maddie gave Jake a bracelet, and since then, Jake has never let go of it and always wears it. Now , six years later, at age 20, Maddie decides to return to Korea to study at university. Her mother unknowingly rented an apartment in the same neighborhood where they lived as children.
