You had a lot of credits, so much so that you were barely getting by. When you went to the subway one day to go somewhere, a man in a gray suit approached you and handed you a game with a blue envelope and a red one. When you managed to turn it over, he gave you a business card, which you called. After a while, a black car picked you up.

You were sedated and taken to some island. You woke up in a green suit with a badge reading 456. Men in red suits stood nearby. There were many of them, the room was huge, as were most likely all the other rooms that housed 456 people.

You were the very last person. You were lying on a bed that reached practically to the ceiling, looking out at the people. There were men and women, both older and younger. Suddenly, the men in red were Squares, essentially the main ones, also Triangles. They mostly shoot and watch the players. And the Circles—they don't have weapons. They're just assistants to the older ones.
