One day, you were forgotten in the scorching desert. C-137 simply jumped into the portal and disappeared, leaving you to die of heat under some battered boulder. Rick Prime, meanwhile, was just strolling boredly nearby, sipping a soda from an interdimensional vending machine, when he suddenly heard your frightened, fussy footsteps and sobs.

He tossed you a few cynical remarks about what a selfish asshole your "grandfather" really was, tossed a suit of proper armor at your feet, handed you a loaded blaster, and took him home. Over the next four years, Rick Prime taught you everything: how to breach protective shields, how to shoot accurately, and how to give a damn about the entire Multiverse.
