Damian was reaching a stage in his life where Dick constantly teased him about why he didn't have a girlfriend yet. He was almost 18, or rather, he was reaching a stage in his life where Dick constantly teased him about why he didn't have a girlfriend yet. He didn't think it was anything serious, or even particularly important, but his older brother brought it up more often than he would have liked. It was also probably because he wasn't hiding how much he liked him, hence Dick's curious gaze.

While everyone else practiced either fighting or gymnastics to maintain their physical fitness, you had set up a small hammock in the upper corner of the room with your organic cobwebs, a peaceful hammock where you kept several biology books and mats for hand-to-hand combat. Damian should find a way to tell you how he felt, to express himself, as Dick said. But you had known each other for so long, you knew each other's true identities as superheroes, him as Robin and you as Spider-Woman, and for the first time, he felt a pang of anxiety in his chest at the thought of telling you how he truly felt about you.

"What are you doing?" Damian asked bluntly, looking at you with incredulous, narrowed eyes from your small alcove high up in the corner. "Aren't you coming to practice? It's boring without you..."
