An adventure game where you can be a part of it...
Nathan and Elena were in a small rented boat in the middle of the ocean. Elena was filming everything with a camera for a documentary, but Nathan didn't seem very interested in that.
After hours of diving, they found Sir Francis Drake's coffin, but inside were not the man's bones; instead, they found his diary. Nathan was happy because he had found another clue to discover the lost treasure.
But the party had only just begun, as they weren't the only ones searching for that treasure.
The pirate boats were getting closer and closer with clear intentions of stealing the map and journal that Nathan had managed to obtain.
🌴 The island in general
It is a tropical, jungle-covered, and mountainous island with abundant vegetation, rivers, and rocky areas. Much of it is covered by a fairly dense jungle, which makes the ruins partially hidden.
The Spanish fortress
A huge fortification built by the Spanish.
It has: Walls, towers, inner courtyards, passageways, abandoned rooms, mechanisms and traps, flooded areas.
The flooded city
An old colonial area that was partially covered by water. There are ruined buildings, canals, bridges and flooded roads.
The monastery
A Spanish religious complex built on the island's ancient structures.
It has churches, bell towers, crypts and catacombs. Beneath the monastery is a huge network of secret passageways leading to areas related to El Dorado.
The catacombs and underground chambers
Beneath the buildings there are tunnels, crypts and hidden chambers.
Here appear many of the clues about what happened to the old expeditions and about the true nature of El Dorado.
The submarine area
Deep in the jungle, Nathan finds an abandoned German submarine.
It's one of the strangest things on the island and serves as a clue that other people had arrived there long before Nathan.
German bunker
A facility built during World War II.
It is full of documents, equipment remains, and evidence of the German expedition.
The El Dorado camera
It is the most important place on the entire island.
It is deeply hidden among the ruins and tunnels.
There they find the statue everyone has been searching for, but Nathan discovers that the supposed treasure is actually a source of a terrible infection.
SHOWDOWN — “Confrontation”
We've reached the final showdown.
Navarro manages to get El Dorado off the island.
He is convinced that he has finally achieved the fortune that everyone was looking for.
But Nathan is pursuing him.
Navarro ends up carrying the statue to a boat.
Nathan manages to catch up to him.
The final confrontation takes place.
Nathan manages to defeat him and prevents Navarro from escaping with El Dorado.
The statue ends up falling into the ocean.
El Dorado disappears underwater.
After everything that happened, Nathan does not get the fortune.
But I didn't want her anymore either.
He has discovered the truth about his ancestor.
Francis Drake was not simply an adventurer who died searching for gold.
He discovered something terrible and tried to keep it hidden.
Nathan ends up following that same path.
Elena survives.
Sully too.
And the three of them manage to leave the island.
GOLD AND BONES — "Gold and Bones"
Nathan and Sully arrive at a huge cavern.
And finally they see what they have been searching for throughout the entire adventure.
El Dorado.
The statue is being moved.
Navarro and his men try to escape with her.
But there's a problem:
Elena is nearby.
During the confrontation, a helicopter crashes.
Elena is trapped among the wreckage.
Navarro survives.
Sully helps Nathan while the Descendants attack.
Nathan tries to reach the helicopter and rescue Elena.
At the same time, Navarro manages to get hold of the statue.
The situation seems completely hopeless.
RACE TO THE RESCUE
Nathan discovers that Elena is in danger.
Roman and Navarro are trying to take El Dorado.
Nathan needs to return quickly.
The Descendants are all over the area.
Mercenaries too.
The island descends into absolute chaos.
Nathan manages to make his way to Elena.
But Roman and Navarro manage to move forward with the statue.
Now Nathan and Sully have to chase them down.
The final race begins.
UNWELCOME GUESTS — "Unwanted Guests"
Nathan encounters the so-called Descendants.
They are human beings transformed by the infection associated with El Dorado.
They are extremely aggressive and will attack anyone they find.
For Nathan, this is the moment when the whole adventure changes.
He is no longer competing for treasure.
He is trying to survive.
Nathan finally understands what probably happened to Francis Drake.
Francis reached El Dorado.
He discovered the danger.
And he probably died trying to stop someone else from taking him off the island.
But Roman and Navarro still don't know the whole truth.
And they are about to make the same mistake.
THE BUNKER — "The bunker"
Nathan discovers an old German facility.
Now he understands why he had found that submarine at the beginning of the adventure.
The Germans had reached the island during World War II.
They had also found El Dorado.
And they made exactly the same mistake as the Spanish.
They tried to seize the treasure.
The consequences were disastrous.
The soldiers were afflicted by the same disease that had destroyed previous expeditions.
Nathan finds records showing that the Germans had tried to contain what they had discovered.
But they failed.
And then Nathan finds something even worse.
The infected are still there.
THE HEART OF THE VAULT — "The heart of the vault"
Nathan and Elena continue towards the center of the camera.
And finally they reach the real treasure.
But what they find is not exactly what they expected.
El Dorado is a huge golden statue.
However...
It does not simply contain gold.
The statue is related to an ancient disease or curse that transforms people.
Nathan begins to connect the dots.
The corpses they found.
Missing persons.
The Spanish expeditions.
Everything fits together.
El Dorado is not a fortune.
It's a trap.
THE TREASURE VAULT — “The Treasure Chamber”
Nathan and Elena enter the treasure area.
And, as expected...
The pirates are there too.
Eddy Raja and his men appear.
Nathan and Elena have to cross the zone while fighting to get inside.
But during the exploration they find something even more important.
Nathan discovers documents and remains related to Francis Drake.
The truth is beginning to emerge.
Francis Drake had found El Dorado.
But after discovering it...
disappeared.
Nathan begins to understand that his ancestor didn't simply die on a normal expedition.
Something happened in that chamber.
"On the trail of the treasure"
Nathan emerges from the underground complex once again.
Now he knows he's very close.
Navarro's mercenaries are still searching for the same place.
Nathan manages to reach a church.
Sully contacts him and explains that there is a secret gallery at the top.
Nathan arrives there.
Find a mechanism with several symbols.
Using the instructions from Francis Drake's journal, he manages to place them correctly.
The structure moves.
A secret entrance appears.
Nathan finally discovers the path to the treasure chamber.
GOING UNDERGROUND — "Underground"
Nathan enters the catacombs alone.
The place is huge.
The corridors are filled with graves and human remains.
Nathan finds more evidence that the Spanish tried to hide something.
While exploring, he encounters Navarro's men again.
After passing through the area, he arrives at a chapel.
There he finds two large bells.
Francis Drake's diary provides another clue.
Nathan manages to activate the bells simultaneously.
A secret door opens.
Nathan descends into the catacombs again.
And then he begins to understand that everything he has found—the bodies, the Spaniards, the missing expeditions, and El Dorado—is connected.
SANCTUARY? — "Sanctuary?"
Nathan and Elena arrive at an old monastery.
From the outside it looks like an abandoned religious place.
But inside they find something much more disturbing.
There are signs that the inhabitants were attacked.
They find the body of one of Eddy's pirates.
The corpse is impaled on a trap.
Nathan begins to suspect that the enemies are not dying solely at the hands of other humans.
The monastery contains religious mechanisms and symbols.
Nathan uses the clues from Francis Drake's diary to solve them.
Finally, he discovers a hidden passage.
That passage leads into the depths of the monastery.
HEADING UPRIVER — “Upstream”
Nathan and Sully are working together again.
Now they have to follow the river.
Elena stays with them for part of the expedition.
The clues indicate that the path to El Dorado leads into the interior of the island.
But the enemies are getting closer.
Nathan and Sully find new ruins and discover that the island was used for centuries to hide treasure.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Nathan and Elena grows ever closer.
Elena begins to understand that Nathan is not simply looking for riches.
He wants to know what really happened to Francis Drake.
TRAPPED — “Trapped”
Nathan continues exploring the customs house.
Elena temporarily separates from him.
Nathan observes a helicopter in the sky.
He does not belong to Eddy's group.
That means there is another group involved.
Nathan keeps moving forward.
Suddenly, pirates appear everywhere.
Nathan is trapped inside the building and has to find a way out.
After confronting the attackers, he manages to reach another area.
And then something very important happens:
Nathan finds signs of Sully.
His mentor is alive.
Finally, the reunion takes place.
Sully explains that he survived the shooting.
Nathan, naturally, is relieved.
But they don't have time to celebrate.
Roman and his men continue searching for El Dorado.
And Elena also remains in danger.
THE CUSTOMS HOUSE — "The customs"
Nathan and Elena enter an old customs house.
Inside they find records of ships that arrived at the island.
One of those records is particularly important.
Nathan finds information about the Esperanza, a ship that had departed from Callao, Peru.
The ship was carrying a huge gold statue.
The recorded weight is extraordinary.
Nathan understands that the statue is probably El Dorado.
Finally, he has proof that the legend was not simply a myth.
But there's a problem.
The statue had not remained in South America.
The Spanish had transported her to this island.
That means the entire story of El Dorado is directly connected to the place where they are located.
TO THE TOWER — “Towards the tower”
Nathan and Elena continue through the ruins.
Their goal is to reach a tower that appears in the documents of Francis Drake.
The tower contains more information about the route of the original expedition.
They reach it by passing through destroyed buildings and ancient structures.
Nathan finds new clues.
Everything suggests that Francis Drake had gone much further than Nathan had imagined.
But it also seems that Francis Drake discovered the true nature of El Dorado.
The couple continues onward until they reach an old colonial office.
THE DROWNED CITY — "The flooded city"
Nathan and Elena arrive at an ancient, partially flooded city.
The structures are covered in vegetation and water.
Everything indicates that it was once an important settlement.
But now it is completely abandoned.
As they explore, they find more remains of previous expeditions.
Nathan begins to notice something strange.
There are corpses.
And they don't appear to have died simply in a battle.
Some bodies show strange signs.
The city is beginning to give the impression that something terrible happened there.
Nathan still doesn't know exactly what.
But Francis Drake's clues seem to lead them to a deeper part of the island.
Elena and Nathan are still together.
And the further they advance...
It becomes more evident that the Spaniards were terrified by something.
OUT OF THE FRYING PAN — "From the frying pan to the fire"
Nathan and Elena don't have time to rest.
Eddy Raja's pirates are chasing them.
Elena finds a vehicle and a chase begins.
While Elena drives, Nathan tries to keep his pursuers away.
The chase goes through the jungle.
The terrain is becoming increasingly dangerous.
At one point they reach a place where the road practically ends in a precipice.
Elena has to maneuver quickly.
They finally manage to escape their pursuers and enter a different area of the island.
The adventure is increasingly becoming a race between several groups seeking exactly the same thing.
UNLOCKING THE PAST — "Unlocking the Past"
Nathan leaves the flooded areas of the fortress and arrives at a courtyard.
There he sees a tower.
She recognizes it because it matches a drawing she had found previously.
Nathan decides to investigate it.
Climb the structure until you reach a high area.
And then he hears something.
Elena.
She is in danger.
One of Eddy Raja's men is about to attack her.
Nathan intervenes and eliminates the threat.
But another enemy uses an explosive weapon against the structure.
The explosion destroys part of the platform.
Nathan and Elena barely manage to escape.
And now they are together again.
5. THE FORTRESS — "The Fortress"
Nathan arrives at a huge Spanish fortress located on the island.
It is an old building, partially destroyed and surrounded by jungle.
Nathan suspects he can find information about El Dorado there.
But Roman's men have already arrived.
Nathan makes his way through the fortress while trying to avoid the mercenaries and locate new clues.
Inside you'll find Spanish mechanisms, flooded structures, and hidden paths.
The fortress appears to have been designed to protect something.
Nathan manages to advance using the mechanisms of the place.
In one of the areas, it needs to raise the water level in order to continue.
The fortress begins to slowly reveal its secrets.
Nathan keeps going.
He doesn't yet know that Elena is nearby.
PLANE-WRECKED — "Plane crashed"
Nathan continues on alone.
Following the clues, he finds the remains of an airplane.
The plane had crashed in the jungle and was apparently carrying information related to the expedition.
Nathan explores the wreckage and finds documents.
Among them are references to Francis Drake and the route he followed during his search.
Nathan begins to piece together the story.
Francis Drake had reached this region centuries ago.
But apparently he hadn't simply found gold.
He had found something that made him disappear.
As Nathan continues his investigation, he discovers something that gives him hope:
Sully might still be alive.
Nathan doesn't know exactly how he survived, but he decides he must find him.
The clues also indicate that El Dorado was moved from South America to an island.
So the search changes direction.
Now they must find that island.
A SURPRISING FIND — “A surprising find”
Nathan and Sully investigate the submarine.
Inside they find documents and maps that prove the Germans were also interested in El Dorado.
But before they can investigate in peace...
Gabriel Roman appears.
Roman is an extremely rich man who has long financed expeditions to find treasure.
He is accompanied by Atoq Navarro, a mercenary who acts as his main trusted man.
Roman knows that Nathan has important information.
He wants the newspaper.
Sully tries to negotiate.
But Roman is not willing to leave empty-handed.
The situation turns violent.
During the confrontation, Sully is shot.
Nathan becomes convinced that his mentor has died.
Roman takes some of the information and leaves with his men.
Nathan is devastated.
Elena tries to convince him that they should continue.
Nathan, however, is determined to find out what happened to Sully and what lies behind El Dorado.
THE SEARCH FOR EL DORADO
Nathan and Sully arrive in South America following the coordinates in the diary.
Elena is also with them.
Nathan is convinced that the coordinates should lead them directly to El Dorado.
However, when they arrive at the designated place...
There is no city of gold.
There is only a huge jungle area and some ancient ruins.
Sully is quite disappointed because he expected to find something much more spectacular.
Nathan, on the other hand, begins to study the ruins.
They find a structure with ancient mechanisms.
Using the instructions from Francis Drake's journal, Nathan manages to activate the mechanism.
A section of the floor opens up and a secret entrance appears.
The two of them descend.
Inside they find more evidence that the Spanish had been there centuries ago.
And then they find something even stranger:
the traces of a modern expedition.
They are not alone.
Someone else is looking for El Dorado.
Upon leaving the ruins, Nathan and Sully discover an abandoned German submarine in the middle of the jungle.
It's completely unexpected.
Why would there be a World War II submarine there?
AMBUSHED — “Ambush”
The story begins in the middle of the ocean.
Nathan Drake and journalist Elena Fisher are aboard a small boat. Elena is filming everything because her job is to make a documentary about Nathan's expedition.
But the reason they are there is much more important.
Nathan has found something he's been searching for for a very long time: Sir Francis Drake's coffin.
Nathan claims that Francis Drake was his ancestor and that he died in 1596. However, there is something strange: the coffin does not contain a corpse.
Instead, Nathan finds Francis Drake's personal journal.
For Nathan, that's practically a map to a lost treasure.
The diary contains clues related to El Dorado, the legendary land of gold that Spanish conquistadors sought for centuries.
But before they can investigate further...
They are attacked.
A group of pirates appears and opens fire on the vessel.
Nathan and Elena try to escape as the boat is damaged.
The situation seems hopeless until Victor Sullivan, Nathan's old partner, appears.
Sully arrives in his own boat and helps get them out of there.
But the boat is destroyed and the expedition temporarily ends on the water.
Nathan, Elena, and Sully manage to survive.
And now they have a goal:
follow the clues in Francis Drake's journal and find El Dorado.
