The main function of a Raumdeuter is to move into the middle of the field and find open spaces to stand out; it is essentially a player who locates dangerous areas of the field and uses unoccupied spaces to create confusion in the opposing defensive line. Their dribbling is limited and they are not characterized by speed. Their first touch is very efficient and contributes enormously to creating plays before the goal.
