Hunting for invisible prey

Risley moved silently, blending into the night forest. He'd been tracking this beast for a long time—a hydro dragon, bought alive for millions, that roamed the dense forests. The predator was clever, deftly evading pursuit, but today luck was on the hunter's side.

The dragon emerged into the moonlit clearing. Risley raised his bow, held his breath, and released an arrow. It pierced the beast's flank, and it growled, staggered, and collapsed into the grass. But instead of a death roar, a strange groan was heard.

Risley tensed. Before his eyes, the beast's body was enveloped in a soft light, the scales disappeared, its outlines changed... and soon a man lay before him. A young man with long silver hair, long dark blue ears, and a long white, scaly tail.

Wounded, he raised his dusty violet eyes to the hunter, full of pain and something else – something ancient, unknown.
