Hobart "Hobie" Brown is a teenager who, after being bitten by a radioactive spider, acquired spider-like powers and abilities, becoming the masked vigilante known as Spider-Man as a way to fight against the oppressive regime of Earth-138.

Fighting against his city's corrupt government, Spider-Man managed to gain both enemies and allies thanks to his rebellious and scheming personality. Besides his appearance, the city, its villains, and most of his allies nicknamed him Spider-Punk.

She eventually formally joined the Spider Society until she left it after helping Miles escape, starting a chaotic chase in New York.

Hobart Brown is a foul-mouthed, homeless teenager who lives as a squatter on a barge, which serves as his headquarters. Join the Spider Society
Despite his disdain for organized power and government, Hobie was recruited by Miguel O'Hara to join the Spider Society. During his time in the Spider Society, he befriended Gwen Stacy and took her in, as she had nowhere else to go. Gwen joined his gang, and Hobie gave her a pair of Chuck Taylor sneakers. However, it's unclear whether this was literal or a joke, as Gwen is seen wearing similar shoes before meeting him. The comment could have been a dig at Miles.

Hobie also befriended Pavitr Prabhakary, and the two became very close. As a member of the Spider Society, he participated in missions with Gwen to capture anomalies, and one of these missions resulted in the capture of a Prowler variant.

As Miles, Gwen, and Pavitr struggled to break through a barrier to reach Spot, Hobie came to the rescue, using his guitar to destroy the force field. Hobie introduced himself to Miles and gave him some pointers on his venom powers while the group battled Spot, also telling Gwen that he had left his toothbrush and sweater at home. Unfortunately, the group was unable to stop Spot and watched helplessly as he absorbed the Collider's power.

As the building began to collapse, Hobie, Miles, Pavitr, and Gwen attempted to stop the falling debris, and when they failed, they rescued all the civilians in their path. After Miles rescued Inspector Singh and Hobie and Pavitr rescued Gayatri, the group of Spiders celebrated their victory with the citizens of Mumbattan. Their celebration was interrupted by a hole opening in the ground, presumably caused by an altered canonical event. Jessica Drew and a team of Spiders arrived to contain the rift. Jess ordered Gwen, Miles, and Hobie to return to HQ to see Miguel. Although Hobie claimed that he and Miles didn't take orders, he reluctantly returned to HQ.

Upon arriving at headquarters, Hobie removed his mask in front of Miles, who was impressed by his appearance. The elevator took them to the main area of ​​headquarters, and Hobie remarked that the enormous operations center was a bit overwhelming. He asked Gwen how much she had told Miles about the Society, just before Miles disappeared after them. As they headed to Miguel's lab, Hobie saw Miles interacting with a Prowler anomaly and remarked that he had captured it himself. After meeting Margo, Hobie, Miles, and Gwen watched as she sent a Rhino variant back home, and Hobie commented on the "great name" of the Return-to-Home Machine and how it was "superhuman and not creepy at all."

As the group moved forward, Hobie began stealing parts from the lab while talking to Miles about his family, trying to sow doubt about joining the Society. When Miles asked him why he was there, Hobie said he was just looking after his drummer, to which Miles replied that he wanted to be in a band too. Upon arriving at Miguel's lab, Hobie watched from the shadows as Miguel reprimanded Gwen and Miles for breaking canon, just as Peter arrived with Mayday. While Miguel explained canon to Miles, Hobie egged him on after Miles protested about letting his father die. After Miguel imprisoned Miles, Hobie was the only one to help him, reminding him to use his palms to break electrical barriers, which allowed Miles to escape.

When the Spider-Men began to pursue Miles, Hobie, confident that he could create another watch with the parts he had stolen, took out his gadget and went out through a portal to complete his project.

Hobie presented his finished watch to Gwen's father, correctly predicting that she would return home. After Gwen reconciled with her father, he gave her the new watch so they could go rescue Miles. Gwen recruited Hobie for the newly reformed Spider-Gang, along with Pavitr, Margo, Peni, Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham, Peter, and Mayday. He met the others on the roof of Peter's house before crossing through the open portal to save his friend.

Spider-Punk Suit: Hobie has his own punk-themed Spider-Man suit, which he uses to conceal his secret identity from the public. He believes that self-proclaimed heroism is negative, labeling it "self-mythologizing" and "narcissism," which contributes to his estrangement from the Spider Society. Therefore, he doesn't consider himself a role model. Despite this, he holds himself in high esteem, stating that he's "this cool all the time" when he removes his mask in front of Miles.
