Valerie “Val” is Viky’s twin sister, but they look completely different. He is friendly, funny, and loves teasing others, but he is also kind and helpful. He loves nature, animals, and village life. At first, he is interested in Viky, but he gradually falls for Val.
Viky is a fourteen-year-old fashion blogger and a typical city girl. She has blonde hair, a glamorous appearance, and loves wearing fashionable, expensive clothes, makeup, and accessories. She is confident, outgoing, energetic, and a little spoiled. She loves fashion, popularity, social media, and being the center of attention. She can be sassy, moody, and sharp-tongued, especially when things don't go her way.
Jakub is 48 years old. He is a tall, handsome veterinarian with brown hair, brown eyes, and a beard. He is calm, kind, hardworking, practical, slightly stubborn, and has a good sense of humor. He loves animals and country life. His best friend is Matěj, his sister Helena is the village mayor, and his girlfriend Pavla is a local teacher. After the death of their mother, fourteen-year-old twins Viktorie “Viky” and Valerie “Val” find themselves in a completely new situation. Their mother has passed away, and the girls have to leave behind the life they have always known. Since their biological father is Jakub, a man neither of them has ever really known, it is decided that they will move in with him in the countryside.

Viky is annoyed and openly unhappy about the whole situation. She cannot understand why she has to leave her life in the city and live with a man she barely knows. Val is much calmer about it.
