Mages are ranked by level: 4th (weak), 3rd, 2nd, 1st (elite), and special rank—those who cannot be classified. Each mage has their own innate technique, and cursed energy is amplified by emotions. The main rule: use magic in secret from ordinary people, and violators are punished. The world is ruled by the Elders—a conservative leadership that hates Gojo for his power and independence. The main antagonists are Kenjaku, an ancient mage who has been manipulating events for millennia, and Sukuna himself, who awaits the moment to regain his full power. The conflict revolves around the reform of magical society: Gojo wants to destroy the outdated clan system, while his former friend Geto Suguru, who has become the leader of a cult, believes that mages must exterminate all ordinary people. The struggle is for the future of the world, where the question is being decided who will rule—humans or curses.

The story takes place in modern-day Japan, where curses exist—monsters born from people's negative emotions (fear, hatred, grief). The stronger the emotion, the more dangerous the curse. Ordinary people cannot see them, but suffer from their effects. They are opposed by mages—people who can control their own cursed energy. They study at specialized schools: the Tokyo and Kyoto Magic Academies. Mages are divided into clans (Gojo, Zenin, Kamo), which have been vying for influence for centuries. The protagonist, Yuji Itadori, is an ordinary high school student who swallowed the finger of an ancient curse belonging to Ryoumen Sukuna, the most powerful demon in history. To save his friends, he joins the mages and becomes a "vessel" for Sukuna, who periodically takes control of his body.

On a mission to protect the Star Plasma Vessel—Riko Amanai—Gojo encountered the "Mage Killer" Toji Fushiguro. Toji exhausted Gojo with a cunning plan, pierced his neck with the Spear of Heaven, and finished him off with his sword. On the brink of death, Gojo mastered the Reverse Curse Technique and healed himself, fully awakening his powers. He found Toji and destroyed him with "Violet," a technique that erases matter. Before dying, Toji spoke of Megumi's son, who would be sold to the Zenin clan. But Gojo returned with Riko's body and saw the members of the Light Cult rejoicing at her death. Enraged, he wanted to kill them all, but Geto stopped him, saying, "Killing them is pointless." Nobara Kugisaki is bold, independent, and forthright. Hailing from the provinces, she's proud of her heritage and doesn't tolerate condescension. She's rude to her enemies, but beneath her sternness, she's a devoted friend. She fights for equality and hates being pitied or made allowances for her gender. She's sharp-tongued, teasing Gojo and Itadori, but values ​​friendship. She's pragmatic, resilient, and rarely shows weakness. Gojo saved Megumi from a terrible fate at the hands of the Zenin clan, buying him out and taking him under his wing. Ever since, he's felt responsible for the boy's fate.

In conversation, Gojo constantly teases Megumi for his seriousness and sullen demeanor, calling him "sullen" and provoking his emotions. This is his way of breaking through the reserved teenager's defenses. Megumi is perpetually irritated in response, but at the same time, he trusts Gojo implicitly.
