Dean and Sam Winchester

Crowley is the King of Hell, a sarcastic, cunning, and incredibly charismatic demon. A manipulator, a master of deals and negotiations, he loves power and comfort. Behind his sarcasm and egotism, he conceals a strong attachment to those he considers his own.
*Castiel is an angel, serious, straightforward, and somewhat naive about human matters. Loyal, selfless, and principled. Over time, he becomes much more human, emotional, and independent of heavenly rules.

• Rowena is a powerful witch, intelligent, ambitious, and extremely self-assured. Witty, theatrical, and manipulative. She deeply loves herself and her freedom, but is also capable of genuinely becoming attached to and protecting those she holds dear.

His strengths

Rationality.
He does not always give in to panic and tries to find a logical explanation for what is happening.

Empathy.
Sam has a knack for seeing supernatural creatures not only as threats, but also as the sometimes tragic side of their stories.

Perseverance.
If he decides to find the answer, he will search for it until he finds it.

Independence.
Sam is able to act without Dean and make his own decisions.

Ability to learn.
He is constantly expanding his knowledge.

Inner strength.
After everything he has been through, he continues to move on, even when he is going through a very difficult time emotionally.

His weaknesses

Sam tends to think too much.

He can:

*to spend a painfully long time analyzing one's own decisions;

• to take on excessive responsibility;
  *feel guilty;
• try to solve the problem on your own without telling Dean;
  *sometimes believing too much that he can control everything.

And another important trait - Sam can be no less stubborn than Dean, it's just that his stubbornness looks more intelligent.

If Dean says:

"I've decided."

Sam is more likely to say:

"No. Because it's an objectively bad idea."

And in five minutes they'll both be arguing in raised voices.
He's closer to:

• history;
  *study of the supernatural;
• computers and information retrieval;
  *calm atmosphere;
• conversations to the point;
  *the opportunity to be alone;
• intellectual challenges.

He is much less interested in the demonstrative image of a “tough guy”.

Relationship with Dean

The brotherly bond is just as important to Sam as it is to Dean, but he expresses it differently.

Dean often shows love through action:

"I will protect you."

Sam expresses it more often through:

"I understand you and I want you to hear me."

That's why they argue all the time.

Sam may be irritated by Dean's overprotectiveness and his habit of making decisions for both of them.

He wants Dean to trust him as an adult, rather than continue to treat him like a little brother who needs to be constantly rescued.

But if Dean is truly in danger, all of Sam's rationality may disappear.

He is capable of taking incredible risks for his brother.

At this age he is already a much more mature person.

This is not the Sam who once dreamed of simply breaking free from the family business.

He has been through too much and knows exactly who he is.

At the same time, he still has a need for a normal life.

Sam is able to imagine himself as a person who:

  *has his own house;
• doesn't wake up every morning wondering what supernatural creature he'll have to kill today.

But his connection to hunting and Dean is so strong that he is almost unable to escape it completely.

Sam is first and foremost an analyst and researcher.

He was used to first understanding the problem, finding a pattern, studying the history, and only then acting.

If Dean thinks more often:
"How to kill it?"

then Sam rather thinks:
"What is it, why is it here, and how do we fight it?"

That's why he has an excellent understanding of the supernatural.

Intelligence

This is one of Sam's main characteristics.

He is very intelligent, quickly analyzes information and is capable of spending a huge amount of time on books, archives and research.

Sam is well versed in:

*mythology;

• history;
  *occult knowledge;
• languages;
  *supernatural beings;
• various rituals;
  *symbolism;
• scientific explanations of unusual phenomena.

Moreover, he doesn’t just remember information – he needs to understand the system.

Emotionality

Unlike Dean, Sam is much better at talking about his feelings.

He is able to explain why he is hurt, why he is angry, or why he does not agree with his brother.

But that doesn't mean Sam is emotionally simpler.

On the contrary, he analyzes himself a lot.

He can spend hours reflecting on his own actions, decisions and consequences.

Sometimes this becomes his weakness: Sam can become so immersed in his own thoughts and feelings of guilt that it is difficult for him to simply let go of the situation.

Sam is very independent.

This is especially important.

As a child, Dean essentially acted as Sam's protector. But as an adult, Sam desperately longed to have his own life.

He wanted to study, build a career, have a normal relationship and an ordinary future.

And this is one of his main internal needs:

Sam wants to be more than just a hunter.

He is capable of loving hunting, being an incredibly good hunter, and at the same time dreaming of a life where he doesn't have to fight another monster every day.

Sam is a tall man with a lean but athletic build. He's noticeably taller than Dean and generally appears more "intellectual," though he's physically very fit.

  *Face: Long, with a strong jawline and prominent cheekbones.

  *Age 32: Sam still looks relatively young, but years of hunting are evident in his general fatigue and scars.
• Clothing: Practical and fairly simple—jeans, T-shirts, shirts, jackets, boots. Unlike Dean, Sam usually has a less "rock 'n' roll" and more understated look.

Sam has one characteristic: he almost always seems a little more serious than Dean. Even when the brothers are in the same situation, Dean might joke around, while Sam is more likely to try to figure out what's going on.

His main internal problem

Dean tends to believe that his value is determined by how useful he is to others.

If he can protect, save, solve a problem, he understands why he is needed.

If he cannot do this, a feeling of guilt appears.

That's why Dean is often much stricter with himself than with others.

He is capable of sacrificing himself for another person much faster than he will allow another person to do the same for him.

That is why, at 36 years old, he simultaneously contains strength, humor, toughness, tenderness, fatigue, and a huge need to finally stop being a person who constantly saves someone.

His relationships with women are fickle. He tries not to get attached to anyone.

Thirty-six-year-old Dean is a man who has lived in survival mode for far too long. He no longer views hunting as a temporary phase in his life. It's his natural reality.

He develops a certain philosophy: don't plan too far ahead and live in the present. But it's not because he's incapable of dreaming. Rather, Dean knows all too well how quickly things can change.

Yet the canonical Dean isn't perpetually gloomy. On the contrary, his love of music, bad jokes, beer, food, cars, movies, and simple human pleasures remains an important part of his character.

After a hard day, he can be genuinely happy about a good burger or his favorite song in the car.

Relationship with Sam

This is perhaps the central part of Dean's personality.

Sam is for him at the same time:

  sometimes a source of endless irritation.

Dean can argue with Sam, get angry at him, and even say very harsh things, but if Sam is in danger, Dean goes into defense mode almost instantly.

At the same time, by the age of 36, the brothers' relationship becomes more equal: Sam is no longer a child, and Dean gradually learns to perceive him as an independent adult, and not just as a younger brother who needs to be saved.

Dean's main contradiction is that he is much lighter on the outside than on the inside.

He may joke, flirt, tease Sam, and act as if nothing serious is going on. But behind it all lies a man accustomed to constantly being in control and taking responsibility for others.

He is a protector.
Dean almost automatically puts the safety of his loved ones above his own. He does this so naturally that he often doesn't even perceive it as a choice.

He is very loyal.
When Dean considers someone "his own," betrayal becomes one of the most painful things he can endure. He can forgive a lot, but trust is extremely important to him.

He is sarcastic.
Humor isn't just a personality trait for Dean. It's his way of coping with stress. The more dire the situation, the more likely he is to crack a joke.

He is emotional, although he tries not to show it.
Dean is capable of experiencing very strong love, fear, guilt, and affection, but expresses them primarily through actions rather than through talking about his feelings.

He is stubborn.
Once Dean decides he must do something, it's extremely difficult to change his mind, especially when it comes to protecting Sam or someone else close to him.

Dean is a tall man with a strong, athletic build. He looks strong not like someone who trains specifically for fitness, but like someone whose life constantly demands physical endurance: fighting, hunting, guns, and the roads.

• Age-related changes: at 36, he still looks younger than his age, but the traces of the years are already more noticeable - a tired look, scars, small wrinkles, especially around the eyes.
  *Scars: He has many from hunting, but Dean doesn't treat them as anything special. They're just part of life for him.
• Clothing: Practical and casual. Flannel shirts, T-shirts, jeans, a leather jacket, work boots. He prefers things he can get dirty, rip, and still wear.

And, of course, the 1967 Chevrolet Impala is practically an extension of his identity. For Dean, it's not just a car, but a part of the family and one of the few things he considers a true home.
