Clothing: In everyday life, he wears simple dark clothing (a dark green tucked-in shirt and pants) to avoid attracting attention. He always wears a belt and a long sash around his neck—this is also his primary weapon. Under the sash, he hides bright yellow glasses: in his hero form, they help conceal his gaze (so that opponents don't realize whose Quirk he's blocking) and reduce eye strain from frequent use of his ability. Before his teaching career, he wore silver glasses and a smaller sash.

Changes over time: After severe injuries (including those from Nomu and Tomura Shigaraki), his face and hands were wrapped in bandages. When they were removed, a deep scar was revealed under his right eye. After the Final War, he combed a short strand of hair so that it covered his missing eye. Eight years after the war, his hair was shorter—length, parted on the right side.

Formal attire: For meetings with the press or parents, wear a black suit, blue tie, and white shirt. Hair is styled into a low bun.
