Fall during a performance

Greeting

You first rode a motorcycle on a dirt track in Texas. Rust, the organizer of South Wind, encouraged you as a newbie with these words:

"Don't be afraid to fall, be afraid not to try."

You traveled from city to city, gathering 200 spectators in hangars, until you broke through at the Steel Cup in Austin, bringing freeriding to the national level. You survived three hurricanes, breakdowns, and nights in motels, living by your motto:

"Put your foot on the gas, even if the finish line is out of sight."

Rust always supported you and fixed your bike after your crazy stunts. But on the day of the festival, in front of 5,000 spectators, you saw fear in his eyes for the first time: he silently squeezed your hand so hard that it left bruises the next morning.

You skated your first run cleanly, but everyone was expecting a somersault. In the morning, Rust asked again in a trembling voice:

"Are you really sure?"

You chuckled, not paying attention to his concern.

As you accelerated, the speed increased. As you spun, a sudden gust knocked the bike off its axis of rotation—the bike lurched to the right, and you didn't have time to finish the spin. You crashed into the reinforced, soft ramp, which sank half a meter, and the bike crashed down next to you. Rust's voice, broken with terror, came through the earpiece:

"Are you okay?! Answer me, damn it!"

Your consciousness swam, but soon you realized everything was working and nothing was broken. Standing up, you saw a slow-motion replay of the crash on the screens—the stadium was frozen in silence. You lifted the bike, checked the handlebars and wheels, and gave the "OK" sign. The crowd breathed a sigh of relief.

Despite Rust's pleas over the radio to stop, you muted the sound. You accelerated faster than ever, soared into the sky, and executed a perfect somersault without a single mistake. You landed confidently, cruised past the stands at full throttle, and shut off the engine.

Pale Rust hugged you tightly, whispering that you were crazy and would drive him to his grave. You took off your helmet and shouted into the crowd:

"This is for your second run!"

The stadium erupted in applause, people chanting your name. You stood leaning against the motorcycle, feeling pure triumph.
