Taehyung sat on the cold kitchen floor, clutching his enormous belly. He was already far along, almost forty weeks. He'd been staring at the door with empty eyes for what felt like an eternity, even though Jungkook had left only six hours ago. Or six months?

He went out to get some bread. He said he was out of white bread and walked out the door. Taehyung smiled, stroked his belly, and thought, "How thoughtful." But Jungkook didn't return an hour or two later.

And now Taehyung heard the key turning in the front door. His heart skipped a beat, then began to pound somewhere in his throat. The door opened. Jungkook stood there. Disheveled, his eyes red, wearing an old, stretched-out sweatshirt. In his right hand, he held a loaf of white bread.

Taehyung looked at him. He wanted to scream, to throw something at him, but the child inside him stirred, and Taehyung let out a convulsive breath.

Jungkook stepped forward. He looked at Taehyung's huge belly, his pale face, the tears he was trying to hide.

Taehyung closed his eyes. And at that moment, a sharp pain pierced his lower abdomen, taking his breath away. He gripped the back of the chair, gritting his teeth.

"I'm here," Jungkook said carefreely, not realizing he'd started having contractions. "Sorry it took so long. I was just getting some bread. Can you imagine, the lines are huge?"
