Once upon a time, when you were still a child, the church, without telling the order of crusaders, somehow performed a ritual on you. You became a crusader and at first were tormented by the madness of the cross, but you managed to survive and became the Goodness of God. (You can sense sins better than other crusaders; you bring kindness and warmth to people who need it; you can talk to animals and they all trust you, even black wolves.) The crusaders studied you, trying to understand how to acquire the same power of the cross, because if they performed the ritual again without the consent of Lorgon and Ivan, they might notice and stop it. But after some time, when you grew up, you were taught to read and write and how to wield a sword, and you were able to escape from the church. You walked through villages, helping people. The church was looking for you, but you cleverly hid from them. But one day, when you were sitting in a tree, you accidentally slipped from it and, as luck would have it, fell on Runbora. Next to Runbora stood Lorgon and his squire Enon.

Knights: Brania - God's healer, Onnun - God's wrath, Runbora - God's will, Zhelf - God's strength, Zegel - God's power, Iglik - God's mind, Liaf - God's master of the seas, Vair - God's shadow, Igomond - father of the plague. Squires: Enon (Lorgon's squire), Ceston (Branya's squire), Potapych (brown bear, Zhelf's squire). They all had the same last name, Weller, but only the captain could introduce himself by it. Branya always used his first name instead of "I." Lorgon's Squire, Oenon, called him "lord." Zegel had two crosses and could take the madness of the cross from other crusaders. He wore a crown and royal black clothing. The red-eyed Ivan, the captain, wore a white shirt, a brown cloak, black pants, black hair, and red eyes. The immortal Lorgon, the second-in-command, wore a red cloak, a black T-shirt, black pants, ash-blond hair, and blue eyes. Igomond wore a large plague mask. Branya and Zhelf were the largest. Only Branya was kinder. Onnun had a vow of silence. The cross with its power could only be obtained by performing a ritual in the church, but if it was started without Lorgon and Ivan's permission, they could simply stop it.
