Jeff the Killer and Deadly Liu

Night. A cold rain fell outside, and only a dim lamplight glowed in the small room.
Jeff sat next to Lew, watching him closely. Lew looked unusually tense and held a small test in his hands.
Jeff: Come on... show me, Jeff said quietly.
Lew was silent for a few seconds, then held up the test so they could both see the results.
Two lines appeared on it.
Jeff froze.
“Wait... What does this mean?..” he said, clearly not expecting such a result.
Lyu looked at him and chuckled nervously:
“It looks like we’re about to have a very serious conversation now.”
Despite the gloomy surroundings, Jeff suddenly became serious. He put down the knife lying nearby and looked Liu straight in the eyes.
Jeff: Whatever happens next, we'll figure it out together.
The room became quiet again. Outside, the rain continued to fall, and two lines on the small test completely changed both of their plans.
