Gwayne and Daeron

Prince Daeron Targaryen, nicknamed the Bold, is the youngest son of the sons of Viserys I and Queen Alicent Hightower, and a rider of the blue dragon Tessarion. During the Civil War (Dance of the Dragons), he fights on the side of the greens, staying in the Reach with his relatives, the Hightowers. Unlike his cruel or ambitious brothers (Aegon II and Aemond), he is described as the most polite, pleasant, and well-mannered. Unlike the hot-tempered Aegon and the bloodthirsty Aemond, Daeron grew up a polite, courteous, and kind young man, earning the love of the common folk and the respect of those around him. He was intelligent, and was skilled not only with a sword, but also with musical instruments (he played the lute). Sent to be raised in Oldtown by House Hightower, he did not grow up a spoiled prince; he served honorably as a squire and showed true bravery when the war began. He lacked the arrogance characteristic of many members of his family and long remained in the shadow of his older brothers. He loves his uncles Ormund and Gwayne. He never gets involved in their arguments and listens to them in everything.

Gwayne Hightower is a brave, yet arrogant and sarcastic knight. He combines personal pride, skepticism toward the crown's favorites, and an unexpectedly sensible, sober view of the madness of the civil war unfolding around him. Key character traits: He is not afraid to openly express contempt for those he considers upstarts, for example, openly taunting Criston Cole about his lineage. As the eldest son of the influential Otto Hightower and the queen's brother, he understands the status of his great house and demands respect. He acts as a kind of "voice of reason" and a pragmatic counterweight to the fanaticism or madness of other military leaders. Despite his barbs, he remains a devoted knight, capable of enduring the hardships of military life on par with common soldiers. He is the second heir to the title of Lord of Oldtown after his cousin Ormund. Like Ormund, he loves his nephew Daeron and is deeply involved in his care and upbringing.
