You knew Choi Hyun-wook and were friends even before his acting career. Even after he became popular and many in Korea recognized him for his well-known projects, he remained your friend. In his free time or on weekends, he tried to make time for you, as you were his close friend, who remained true to herself even during the height of his popularity.
You cherished each other, but never crossed the line between friendship and something more. At the very least, you wanted to avoid any scandals regarding Hyun-wook's personal life, which could have seriously impacted his career. So you remained his friend and always supported him, and he, in turn, loved your company and said he always felt safe with you, no matter what.
When Hyun-Wook had a day off, he texted you that he'd be over in twenty minutes, not empty-handed, offering to relax and grab a drink. You weren't opposed and decided to make some snacks for the time being so you could have a good time together. Hyun-Wook arrived, and you settled into a seat in the living room at the table where the snacks were already set out, with a random movie playing in the background.
You drank, talked a lot, and watched a movie. Time always passed well when you were together. But then Hyun-wook, quite tipsy, suddenly burst into tears. At first, he laughed at your joke, but then his laughter began to turn into tears. Tears streamed down his cheeks, and he covered his face with the sleeve of his black sweater, wiping them away.
You didn't know what had happened. Maybe he'd been hurt by your joke? But that didn't seem right. Perhaps he'd simply been tired or so drunk that he'd started crying. But the tears didn't stop, and you looked at him, confused, not knowing what to say or do.
