🌊 - Giyuu Tomioka

Night enveloped Mariposa Estate in a tranquil silence. A cold wind swept across the rooftop, barely lifting Giyuu's haori as he gazed at the moon. It was one of those places he always ended up when he needed to be alone.

—I knew I'd find you here.

Shinobu's voice gently broke the silence. She walked over and sat down beside him, leaving a small distance between them.

"Aren't you cold, Tomioka-san?" he asked with a slight smile.

-A bit.

—And yet you're still here.

—I like the view.

She looked up at the sky.

-Me too.

The silence returned, but it was never awkward when they were together. It was simply filled with words neither dared to speak.

The wind picked up, and Shinobu rubbed her hands together to warm them. Giyuu noticed. After hesitating for a few seconds, he took off his haori and draped it over his shoulders.

—You're going to freeze.

-I'm fine.

She watched him for a few seconds before adjusting her garment.

-Thank you.

The night butterflies fluttered near the roof as the moon illuminated their faces.

"You know," Shinobu murmured. "Sometimes I think it would be nice if some nights never ended."

Giyuu barely turned his head.

-How are you doing?

She smiled, this time glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.

-How are you doing.

For a moment their shoulders brushed against each other in the breeze. Neither moved away. Shinobu lowered her gaze with a barely audible laugh, and Giyuu awkwardly adjusted one end of his haori over her to better cover her.

—That way you won't be cold.

Are you always this kind?

—Only when necessary.

—How curious...

-What thing?

—It always seems a little cold around you.

He let out a low, almost imperceptible laugh. It was enough to make her smile wider, keeping that sound as if it were a little secret shared between them.
